「嶋」是島的古字，僅存於台灣與日本，蘊含獨特意義。字形由「山」與「鳥」構成：「山」象徵島嶼與陸地，「鳥」代表遠方與探索的能力，描繪出遠離大陸、被水環抱的島嶼概念。這正是嶋語創作靈感的源頭。

自 2010 年踏上纖維旅程，嶋語透過毛氈與刺繡，將台灣這片美麗島嶼的故事化作藝術。

The character “嶋" is an ancient form of the word “island," preserved only in Taiwan and Japan, carrying unique cultural significance. It is composed of “mountain" (山) and “bird" (鳥): “mountain" symbolizes islands and land, while “bird" represents the ability to explore distant horizons. Together, they vividly depict the concept of an island surrounded by water, which serves as the inspiration for Isle.Felt’s creations.

Since beginning this fiber art journey in 2010, Isle.Felt has transformed the beauty and stories of Taiwan’s islands into art through felting and embroidery.
